Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Sleigh!
“Mo Willems serves up another fun book that will have young readers howling with delight.”
Pigeon is back for another fun romp in Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Sleigh! This isn't just any sleigh that Pigeon wants to drive, of course. It's Santa's sleigh. Pigeon quickly assures the reader he is up for the task.
"I can do the Santa stuff!
How hard can it be?
Can I eat cookies?
I can.
I can wrap presents!
And deliver them!
I CAN BE JOLLY!"
Or maybe not. . . . Still Pigeon is determined. At least until he sees the sleigh itself.
"Where's the clutch?
Or the steer-y thing?
Or the honker?
I do not get it."
The mechanics of driving a sleigh have stumped Pigeon, but that doesn't turn out to be the main problem. There's a distinctive smell, and it's not a nice one. A double page spread puts Pigeon face to face with a reindeer, and it's not a cheerful encounter.
"AAAAGGH!!!"
Maybe sleigh-driving isn't for Pigeon after all, but that's okay. There are other holidays he can enjoy.
"Egg delivery, anyone?"
