Parminder S. Basran, Ph.D., FCCPM, is a Senior Medical Physicist at the B.C. Cancer Agency and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Victoria, Canada. His major scientific interests are in applying, developing and evaluating new technologies in cancer management. He is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine and was most recently the Editor of a national publication in his profession.

Apart from writing scientific papers and (failed) grant applications, Mr. Basran participates in science outreach programs in the community and has a profound interest in the history and philosophy of science, and the evolution of the scientific method. He now indulges in slightly less scientific writing on his blog about west coast breweries and book reviews. He is the father of two, husband of one, and the master of none.
