Dick Lochte

Dick Lochte was presented with the Ellen Nehr Award for Excellence in Mystery Reviewing for his crime fiction reviews in the Los Angeles Times. His writing has also appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Washington Post, Playboy, TV Guide, Publishers Weekly, Mystery Scene, and Salon magazine.

Mr. Lochte is the author of the Nero Wolfe Award-winning comedy-mystery Sleeping Dog, a chronicle of the adventures of a precocious 14-year-old girl and a weary Los Angeles private detective searching for her mother across California’s barbarous coast.

His latest novels include the noir thriller Blues in the Night and the humorous whodunit The Talk Show Murders. The latter, co-written with the Today Show’s Al Roker, is the third book to feature Manhattan restaurateur and early morning news show host Billy Blessing. Mr. Lochte, a past president of the Private Eye Writers of America and the American Crime Writers League, has written film scripts for such actors as Roger Moore, Martin Sheen, and Jodie Foster.

New Orleans-born, Mr. Lochte now resides in Southern California with his wife and son.
