Yoani Sanchez
Yoani Sanchez, a University of Havana graduate, is a Cuban writer, editor, and linguistics scholar who started the blog, Generation Y, in 2007 after returning to Cuba from Switzerland where she emigrated in 2002. Among her many awards, she is the first blogger to win a Maria Moors Cabot Prize from Columbia University for journalism that advances inter-American understanding.
