Sandy Powers was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio, a small town on the shores of Lake Erie. She and her husband, Mike, moved to Kent, Washington, a small town outside of Seattle. After their daughters traveled across the country to attend college, Ms. and Mr. Powers transplanted themselves to Englewood, Florida, a small town outside of Sarasota.
