Rob Dobrenski, Ph.D. received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2001. By 2004, after years of answering such questions as, “What’s it really like to be a shrink?” or “How can you work with ‘crazy’ people all day?” he began writing about his job on the web at ShrinkTalk.Net. Subsequent to being released from that job because of his writing, he made the move into private practice where he could continue to write. Until the present time, his focus has seldom wavered from pointing out that both he and his colleagues are just as neurotic as the people they treat.

Dr. Dobrenski has gained increased public attention on his website/blog, ShrinkTalk.net, because of his unusual candor and nontraditional take on therapy. His work has been published in The Best of Creative Nonfiction, Vol.2. The author has also been interviewed by Cosmopolitan about relationship counseling. Crazy: Notes On and Off the Couch is Rob Dobrenski’s first book length work. He lives and works in New York City.
