The New York Journal of Books
Reviewer Panel consists of a growing team of talented and experienced reviewers whose expertise and credentials are unique among exclusively online book reviews. This panel includes bestselling and award-winning authors, journalists, experienced publishing executives, tenured academics, as well as highly experienced professionals across a number of disciplines and industries. All bring highly relevant expertise and insight to their reviews. Each reviewer writes about books with a singular, unique voice. Together, this chorus is New York Journal of Books’ singular strength. NYJB’s catalog of reviews has far more in common with respected print reviews than with any other online-only review. In a world where print book reviews are in rapid decline, NYJB aims to preserve the tradition of excellence in book critique. At the same time, NYJB embraces the rich multimedia content that cannot be found in a print publication, providing a singularly rich book selection experience.
Lisa Rojany Buccieri, Publisher, has written over 100 children's books, including several award-winning and bestselling titles. She was lead writer for Writing Children’s Books for Dummies. Also a publishing executive and editor for over 20 years, she founded the still-thriving Editorial Services of L.A and has been Editorial/Publishing Director for Golden Books, Price Stern Sloan/Penguin Group USA, Intervisual Books, Gateway Learning Corp (Hooked on Phonics), and other established publishing houses.
Rhonda Sturtz, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
worked for many years in advertising sales, including ten years at TIME Magazine where she was recognized multiple times as “Advertising Salesperson of the Year.” Rhonda also has eight years of experience in merchandising and retail management. Additionally, Rhonda has held several positions in the arts. While living in Hong Kong, she founded an art dealership, New Asia Art, which promoted undiscovered artists from around the Asia-Pacific region. Several of these artists are now internationally recognized.
Ted Sturtz, Founder,
established New York Journal of Books, LLC, during an extended break from a long career in finance. As an investment banker, Ted covered media companies, including publishers, for ten years. He ghost-authored a business-category book released in the fall of 2009 that received numerous highly favorable reviews. Ted majored in fiction writing as an undergraduate at Brown University.
